Dear Pastor,
Recently when President Bush said that he had some "political capital to spend" with his re-election, I think he was speaking for us, the Christians. For 32 years abortion on demand has been the law of the land but we are about to make some important inroads in changing this law.
Recently I personally talked with Norma McCorvey, who is the original "Jane Roe" in Roe V. Wade. She is now a born-again Christian and has filed a Rule 60 Motion to vacate and reverse Roe V. Wade. This will be filed on or about January 17, 2005.
Her lawyers are working on the appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court until then, after which the Court will consider whether to hear the case. This is the time for the whole body of Christ to unite in prayer for the end of the covenant with death that is Roe v. Wade.
I had no idea all this was going when we planned "Project 33". We are putting up over 900 crosses on our front lawn to "remember the children".
Each cross represents 50 thousand lives.
For comparison sake we will have 24 red crosses with American flags to honor our war dead from the beginning of our nation … 1.2 million. We will have 3 crosses to remember the recent Tsunami deaths … 150 thousand. But to remember the children killed by abortion in 32 years we need to have 900 crosses … 45 million children dead!
May I make an appeal for you to encourage your congregation to come by sometime during the week of January 17-23 and just walk and pray among the crosses? These children have no graves and have never been properly mourned.
Pray for our nation to see the truth. Pray for those who have had abortions to be healed. Pray for those who have been involved in abortions to know the love and forgiveness of Christ.
This is for our city; did you know that we kill babies right here in Roseville? This is for our state. We are one of the leading states in abortion and especially now with "embryonic stem cell research". This is also for our nation as we now have a President who is pro-life not pro-death. This is an important week for the body of Christ to come together and pray.
Remember II Chronicles 7:14, if we pray and turn to God he will hear our prayer and heal our land.
Sincerely Yours In Christ,
Pastor Jim Carmichael
