Letter to Christian Pastors and Youth Leaders

December 14, 2005

Dear Pastor,

I invite you and your congregation to come to any of the upcoming Project 33 Pro-life activities during Sanctity of Human Life week, January 16-21, 2006 (see www.Project33.org).  I believe your youth will be particularly blessed to attend our Youth Assembly, Redeeming the Abortion Generation, on Saturday, January 21, 2006 , from 1:30-3:30 PM at Foothill Community Church .  This gathering is designed to reach the next generation of leaders, today’s youth, with an understanding of the truth of abortion; how to get help for themselves or their friends; and how they can help to stop abortion amongst their peers and in their community.

Jim Carmichael, Pastor of Foothill Community Church, comments, “May I encourage you to get your youth involved in Project 33? This can truly be a life-changing experience. It is their generation that has been so assaulted by abortion that they have every right and need to learn how to speak up for their lost brothers and sisters.”

Our keynote speaker for the Youth Assembly will be Michael Spielman, 29-year-old founder of Abort 73 (see www.abort73.com).  We will also feature presentations from local on-fire pro-life youth ministries describing exciting and powerful things young people are doing.

Since becoming involved in pro-life ministry through Sacramento Teens for Life, we have witnessed tremendous spiritual growth in many of our junior and senior high students.  According to our students, Project 33 is about putting their faith into action.  Miss Johnson, our junior high Bible teacher stated that, prior to becoming involved in this practical ministry, "Many of my students questioned the relevance of what they were learning.  They said ‘All my friends are Christian; I don’t need this.’  Now, they are making a difference, and are becoming at ease with talking to non-Christian youth about their faith, abortion, and other cultural issues.  Our young people are willing to get up early to do outreach ministry, they are excited about this!”

I pray that you will be willing to promote this event to your congregation and make our brochures available.  I pray also that you will put this event on your youth ministry master calendar and make it a field trip for your Jr. and Sr. high youth groups as well as your college age young adults.  We have found that young people become highly motivated to be a witness and do other pro-life work when they hear and see what other young people are doing in this area.  Many of them think, “Hey!  I can do this too!!”

Brochures will soon be available for Project 33 (a .PDF version is available for viewing on our website, www.Project33.org).  We would be delighted to deliver as many brochures as you need.  For details on all our activities the week of January 16-21, 2006 as well as more information about the Youth Assembly, please visit our website.  Note, the website is still under construction; however, we are updating it regularly.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to give me a call.  I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have.

For the Next Generation,

Mr. Craig Garbe

Headmaster, Cornerstone Christian School

P.S.  Local pro-life leaders tell me that 50% of all young people getting abortions claim to be Christians.  These same leaders report that many young people they talk to going into the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic (just across the creek from Spaghetti Factory on Sunrise Blvd.) are getting contraceptives and are very open about what church they go to in Roseville.  Without a doubt, one of the most effective ways to minister in these situations is on a youth-to-youth level. The pro-life ministries that will be at Project 33 stand ready to help equip your young people and staff with loving alternatives to abortion as well as the practical training to minister to those who have been scarred by the horrors of an abortion.
